Kochi (Cochin)

Kochi, formerly known as Cochin is a major tourist spots in the south it being one of the major port cities of the Kerala state. A large number of tourist flock here to see popular places such as Fort Kochi, Vembanad lake, Kochi marina and the backwaters to name a few. Having Arabian Sea touching it and situated in the western coast it has an amazing location for tourists all over the world.


Kovalam being one of the great beach towns in the state offers a picturesque view of its coconut trees as per its name. It has three new beaches which makes it one of the most visited places in the state. The Lighthouse beach, the Hawah Beach and the Samudra beach all along the coast makes it a must watch.


The capital of the state Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala is also called God's own city or the Evergreen city of India and is one of the most popular places to visit in the south. A large number of tourist destinations in the state include Kovalam beach, Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple, Sanghumukham Beach, Tropical Botanical Garden, Public Library, Varkala Cliffs and many others to enjoy and have fun.


Munnar one of the popular hill stations situated on the Western Ghats. The name Munnar is said to have come from the confluence of three major rivers Madhurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly Rivers. A number of wildlife sanctuaries are nearby such as Chinnar and Indira Gandhi Sanctuary. One can watch and enjoy great flora and fauna all along the place and especially in Eravikulam National Park.


Kumarakom is very popular among tourists for it largest backwaters of Kerala. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which has a great bird wildlife and nature while the Vembanad Lake provides for the marine one of the biggest freshwaters. The place is situated near the Kottayam city.
